Alcohol makes your brain grow

from BBC news......

Drinking alcohol boosts the growth of new nerve cells in the brain, research suggests.

But while this might sound good in theory, the Swedish team believe these new cells could contribute to the development of alcohol dependence. ...........

All of the new cells developed normally.

A spokeswoman from the Campaign for Real Ale said: "It is well known that alcohol in moderation is good for your body so it's no surprise it's also good for your mind.

"Maybe that is why lots of pub quiz teams are so bright."

Cinco de Mayo

Next Thursday is Cinco de Mayo. Why that should have become a drinking holiday is beyond me. The rising popularity of Mexican beers and promotions by the big brewing companies behind them is my guess.

My problem is I don't much like Mexican beers. Corona? Hoc spit. And adding a lime doesn't make it any better and just ruins a good lime. I like the taste of Dos XX amber but it gives me terrific headaches and I don't even have to drink much (I know what you were thinking), too much preservatives me guesses.

Negro Modelo
would be my choice. And no fruit in my beer please. Save the lime for the fish tacos.

13th Annual Festival of Beers

The 20-30 Festival of Beers is this Saturday.
Usually good fun and music. $30 pre fest.
