Beer, Music & Bitchin'
Went to the Chris Isaak show at the Fox the other night. Good music but the beer was way over priced and the heat was unbearable inside. Remember when concerts had $3 beer and it was 32 oz? Okay I'm too old. Isaak was good, actually very good but man he was sweatin' buckets too. I think the Fox is great but they really can't be having shows in there in the summer if the AC is that poor. I kept buying water and pouring half of it on my head and shirt.
Woking in Fresno this week and went to Bobby Salazar's in the Tower District after work. It was dead. Part way through my second beer I knew why. They don't have a jukebox. They play some kind of back ground music, in the past it's been Mexican music but it was usually kept low. The last few months it's been 60's and Motown - I can live with that - a little AF Respect is cool. Tonight it was 'Soft Rock'. God is that stuff awful! Soft is right - it can turn your brain to mush. I told the bartender why I was leaving, I hope he passes the word up. How can you have a 'Happy Hour' with that drag-me-down shit playing?
I need a drink.
